Roles And Responsibilities: 

In this role as an experienced Database Engineer, you will have opportunity to work with our customers in variety of database engineer areas, ranging from accessing the databases workloads, recommending the best practices, to databases migrations on-premises and to the cloud. 

We are looking for hands on Database Engineers who are passionate about: 

• Helping customers architect scalable and highly available application and database solutions 
• Working as a technical leader alongside customer development and infrastructure teams 
• Advising and implementing best database engineering and management practices 
• Implementing Database DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployments 

Basic Skills and Qualifications 

• 8+ Years supporting Core database technologies like Oracle 
• Verbal and written communications skills and ability to work effectively across organizations 
• Experience in a customer facing role driving discussions with technical personnel regarding database design, development and architecting best practices 
• Experience designing, building, and managing databases on Linux and Windows-based systems 
• Experience architecting highly available database systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability 
• Familiarity of agile development process 
• Scripting experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, SQL etc.) 

 Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience diagnosing performance problems and tuning code, SQL, and deployment architectures to improve performance 
• Experience in multiple core SQL and NoSQL database technologies like Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB 
• Experience in designing, building, and supporting highly available databases using Oracle RAC, MySQL master/slave configuration, MongoDB replica Sets, SQL Server Always On etc. 
• Experience in migration and conversion of heterogeneous & homogeneous databases from on-prem to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure 
• Cloud migrations skills from basic networking, storage, capacity planning, performance benchmarking 
• Experience in Oracle Cross-Platform database migration and use of transportable tablespaces 
• Experience in using native database backup and recovery technologies like Oracle RMAN and Cloud Platforms backups like AWS Snapshots, AWS S3 
• Experience in Databases Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning and Benchmarking 
• Experience in 1-2 Automation technologies like Ansible, Bash, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, Terraform etc. 
• Experience in installing, configuring, and managing database monitoring technologies like Oracle OEM, Percona’s Monitoring Toolset (Prometheus), HPOV, Newrelic
