The Data Tech Lead forms an integral part of a newly established Data Engineering team and will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers for support and
continuous improvement of data platform and new solutions. Primarily the purpose of the Data Platform owner will be to act as a single orchestrator of all engineering activity and overall custodian of the Data platform.
This role will encompass a mix of hands-on technical leadership, agile (scrum) management, strategy and ops model development, and stakeholder relations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop foundation for laying out non-functional qualities in the platform including resiliency, scalability, security, and lineage.
- Analyze, define, design and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating system environment.
- Advise on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Science and can make correct choices from alternatives.
- Design and code solutions on and off databases for ensuring application access to enable data driven decisions.
- Work with Business consumers and IT teams to enable data services for integrating upstream and downstream applications.
- Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of analytical systems and determine priority of needs.
- Oversight and accountability for platform monitoring and issue management.
- Accountable for service performance and data quality
Requirements
- Practical experience of 12+ year developing data solutions.
- Extensive experience in on cloud data technologies.
- Strong understanding of ETL and data warehouse concepts processes and best practices.
- Possess a combination of solid business knowledge and technical expertise with strong communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical and logical thinking.
- Good verbal & written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment providing structure in ambiguous situation.

- Understanding of Insurance Domain
- Good understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance.
- Basic understanding of data visualization tools like SAS VA, Tableau
- Good understanding of implementing & architecting data solutions using the AWS components.
